DraftTemplate text based on Angolan Law No. 22/11 of 17 June (Personal Data Protection Law). It must be reviewed by a lawyer before publication. Fields in [ ] are still to be completed. In case of discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.

This policy explains what personal data the JIMUA app processes, why, and what rights you have over it. The app is designed to work without an account and to collect as little data as possible. In case of discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.

1. Data controller

The United Methodist Youth in Angola (JIMUA), an organisation of the United Methodist Church in Angola, headquartered at [full address], Luanda, is the controller of your data. Contact: [email protected].

2. Data we process

The app does not ask for your name or phone number and does not create user accounts. We only process:

3. Purposes and legal basis

Error reports are used to correct the hymnal and improve the app, based on your consent when you send the report. The notification identifier is used to send alerts about news, events and new content, based on the consent you give in the operating system, which you can withdraw at any time in your phone settings.

4. Retention

Error reports are kept for up to [24] months after they are resolved and are then deleted or anonymised. The notification identifier is deleted when you turn off notifications or when it is no longer valid.

5. Sharing and transfers

We do not sell or pass on data to third parties. We use service providers acting on our behalf: [hosting provider], Google (Firebase) and the notification services of Apple (APNs) and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Where these services involve transferring data outside Angola, JIMUA ensures the safeguards and authorisations required by Law No. 22/11 from the Data Protection Agency (APD).

6. Your rights

Under the law, you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to request its correction or deletion and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]; we reply within [30] days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Agency (APD).

7. Security

Communications between the app and the servers are encrypted. Access to the administration area is restricted to authorised members of the JIMUA team, with personal accounts and role-based permissions.

8. Minors

The app is intended for Methodist youth, including minors. For this reason we do not ask for identifying data. We ask users under [16] not to include personal data in error reports, and parents or guardians to supervise use.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced in the app. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
